This compares to the 3k a month Catholic priests are paid in the first
world with more pay the farther up the line you go.

Didn't know that, nice to know. I am sure it's a motivation for people to even become priests to begin with.

You're forgetting to include that the President of the WTS also gets FREE
room and board. Free Medical and Dental Ins. His laundry is done for FREE
and all his traveling expenses are FREE. He pays for almost nothing! All
he has to pay for are extras like shoes, jewelry, cologne, deodorant etc.

Other than the travelling, I think he would be worse off than anyone on Welfare! Boy, are they ever ripping off the brotherhood. Paul's getting some help from the brothers in Macedonia should be put right in front of their faces!

"as well"??? Paul spent times in the cold, in the water, was beaten, just to keep moving forward to do the Biblical thing and preach the importance of Christ and the kingdom and to the ends of the earth. Maybe McDonald's is sacred to you, but people do invest in every segement of society to what they deem worthy and important often volunteering their assets or services. So I am sure tithing of old was out for you as well as anybody giving to anything you don't like is, as well.

** YES! The Pres' of the WT does nothing to earn any income. Where do you
think the money comes from to pay his bills? Please don't try and BS me. I
was involved with this cult for 20 years and knew many of the elders and
their wives.

Paul spent times in the cold, in the water, was beaten, just to keep
moving forward to do the Biblical thing and preach the importance of Christ
and the kingdom and to the ends of the earth.

** Which has nothing to do with the subject we're discussing. Why not talk
about coin collecting or fishing?

** Tithing to cults where the leaders live for free with every luxury, as do
the GB and Pres' of the WTS is only done by fools and the brainwashed.
Anyone with sense would donate money to good causes, not the WTS.

The WTS is building KH's at the rate of 5 a day with 6500 more planned
one of them right here in Burnaby,BC. This costs money as does printing
the Bibles running the web site, disaster relief and the magazines and
tracts and conventions. I am happy to give money to the WTS and will
continue to do so as well as to the Union Gospel Mission and Salvation
Army that help feed the poor while the WTS concentrates on spiritual
matters.

A JW can get disfellowshipped for donating to any other church. If the elders
discover that you are donating to another church you will get warned to not ever
do it again. If you persist, you will get disfellowshipped. Same is true if
they find out you are buying lottery tickets which you claim you do. Remember,
you don't have to be disfellowshipped to be shunned. The elders can put the
word out that you are bad association, and you'll be dropped by your JW friends
like a hot potato.

a few frowns if need be. As for the Union Gospel Mission and Salvation

programs. The JWs are great but they never fed me when I was down and
out the UGM and Sally Ann did.

And I also told you that whomever told you that is wrong. What I say about the
JWs is from 30 years of experience. I don't lie. Gambling will get you
disfellowshipped.

http://freeminds2.org/the-watchtowers-shocking-2010-elders-manual/

"'In paragraph 30 Watchtower tells elders that those whom they shepherd 'should
avoid gambling in all its various forms, including lotteries' and if a person
practices gambling then after repeated counsel, the elders can act judicially
against her/him.'"

That's straight out of the elder's manual. If some JW is telling you
differently, he is lying to you.

It doesn't matter. ANY affiliation or association with other churches or their
programs are forbidden no matter how insignificant it may seem to you. You can't
even go to a church yard sale. Your problem, Greg, is that you don't know all
the JW rules. There are over a thousand of them but there is no JW Rule Book.
The rules are scattered amongst thousands of magazines, books, Kingdom Ministry
pamphlets, and whatever else they've printed. It would take years to read
through them all, but more important, you have to know what the latest rule is
because many of them have changed over the years. The new recruits don't know
about the rules until after they've been ensnared. I am not lying to you.
Listen to what I have to say and then do an honest investigation to see if I am
telling the truth. If you do, you'll find out that I am.

Usually on the personal level JWs do offer assistance if they can afford it,
but the WTBTS will do nothing. This goes back to Russell himself who was rich
but offered absolutely no charity to anyone. It wasn't until the mid-nineteen
eighties that the WTBTS offered to help in a natural disaster. They got a lot
of publicity out of it so they continued doing it. They do it for the publicity
only. It is done to fool the public into believing they are a charitable
organization. They are NOT a charitable organization. Their money is spent
recruiting more members who donate more money. A Ponzi scheme.

It's my understand the money comes from the congs themselves. The WTS
actually pays for nothing. The individual JWs cough up the cash in
disasters. Has that changed?

All the money comes from rank and file JWs except what the WTBTS invests in
stocks and donations for literature. When I left, there were donation boxes
labeled for the congregation and for the world wide preaching work. I think
there was another one for disaster relief.

Actually I was wrong when I called the WTBTS a Ponzi scheme. In a Ponzi scheme,
the investors do get paid. With the JWs, they get nothing but a promise of a
paradise. As long as the JWs are duped enough to believe that the WTBTS is the
only way to paradise, they'll continue to do anything demanded of them.

Greg, they don't help any of their member who are down and out. Like one JW
who used to post here said, "The WTS isn't a charitable Org." That was an
understatement. If you have a few friends in the KH, they may offer to help
you - that's about it. You can serve the WTS faithfully all your life, your
labors generating hundreds of thousands of dollar for their coffers over the
years, but if you should need or ask for anything they will silence you. If
you make an issue of it, they will DF and shun you. Elders are taught to be
cold and callous - all human emotion is shut off. I'm sure you know of the
elderly JWs who were forced in to the streets of Brooklyn NY when they
became too old or sick to work at their huge complex there. Some of these
old people were found sleeping in parks, sick, old and confused. All they
knew all their lives was the WTS. It was quite a scandal at the time. The
GB, living in the lap of luxury couldn't care less about those people who
couldn't even collect SS because they never paid in - thanks to the WTS/GB.
They were advised to go back to the families the WTS forced them to abandon
years before. They didn't even know where their families were. And why
would their families want to take them in now that they were like strangers,
had no money, were sick and needed all kinds of help and care? A family
they snubbed their noses at years before? The WTS refused to help these
faithful WT slaves in any way. Now I was told they no longer allow long-term
workers as to avoid another such scandal and not because they give a damn
about their unpaid labor force.

When a storm came through our area, construction crews were set up immediately
to help rebuild some homes - all with video cameras rolling. All of this was
presented to the news media for national coverage to show how charitable the JWs
are. The reality was though, there was zero help for those in our congregation.
It was the elders responsibility to take care of everyone. But even some of the
elders homes were severely damaged, and the elders were living from paycheck to
paycheck, so they couldn't possibly do much. One elderly JW couldn't move back
into her house for several months. A young widow with two children lived in a
motor home for over a year before her house could become livable.

The odd thing is, when I was in the cult, I could not recognize the wrongness of
the WTBTS. I wore JW blinders and couldn't see anything outside the Watchtower
madness. But when I decided to leave, everything became clear to me. I was
duped by a cult for 30 years.

It's not just a cult; it's a destructive cult. Thousands of lives are lost every
year because of suicides and refusal of blood transfusions.

provide everything they could possibly desire. They want for nothing.

This compares to the 3k a month Catholic priests

You're forgetting to include that the President of

and Dental Ins. His laundry is done for FREE and
all his traveling expenses are FREE.

What luxuries are you alleging for the GB exactly? By all accounts they

I am sure the Apostle Paul would have liked the modern technology for writing and sending off his letters, and would have done so had they had that choice. I think brother Russell had $200 left in his bank account at the time of his death, and invested handsomely from his clothing stores to get the kingdom work going. I doubt any of the subsequent leaders have padded their bank accounts with the oft quote, "if you received free, give free," And I'm sure when the kingdom work was getting established and moving foward, that having congregations established was a very needed, time-worthy expense.

Exactly correct. The U.S.A. has been a magnet for fundies that were expelled
from Europe. In the U.S.A. there's a preacher in almost every nick and corner
in the South. Thousands have come and gone without anyone knowing they existed
outside their local area. Russell was an exception because he was rich and used
his personal money to keep his obsession going.

They don't need a bank account. Everything they can possibly desire is provided
for them. Wake up and smell the coffee. You're in a cult. The cult leaders

I am sure the Apostle Paul would have liked the modern technology for
writing and sending off his letters, and would have done so had they had
that choice.

** And PAID for it themselves?

I think brother Russell had $200 left in his bank account at the time of his
death, and invested handsomely from his clothing stores to get the kingdom
work going.

** Russell did not live frugally. He lived well. The same can't be said for
most JWs over the years. Most of those I knew, discouraged from getting
college educations because the "end of this system" was right around the
corner, to happen in 1975, made poor wages. They could barely afford a few
luxuries such as going our to eat, a movie for the family or even a weekend
away in the countryside or beach.

I doubt any of the subsequent leaders have padded their bank accounts with
the oft quote, "if you received free, give free,"

** They don't need bank accounts as they live in luxury with every need met.
They lack for nothing. They will be taken care of until their dying day,
unlike the JWs, most with low to moderate incomes, who are forced to support
them in this lifestyle. The WTS gives NOTHING FREELY as all JWs are expected
to "donate" for the endless reams of magazines, books, DVDs/CDs etc. They
are also required to turn in any money people donate at their doors.

And I'm sure when the kingdom work was getting established and moving
foward, that having congregations established was a very needed, time-worthy
expense.

** Which has nothing to do with the subject at all........

Why wouldn't they fly first class. Usually people that do, which is a lot of people, take first class to be away from the hoopla and noise that accompanies the commoners of discount rates. Most people in first class have important projects ahead of them and need the time for business or getting complete rest for their important missions.

You defend them and then admit you have to ask? Only the most affluent fly
1st class. It's about twice what business class costs. There is no need
for them to fly 1st class and most JWs, even those with the poorest
educations would realize this. They most likely have, since it's no longer
bragged about.

The example you provide is flying from Kansas City to Little Rock. That
distance is only 420 miles. One can drive it in six hours. One can fly that
distance in less than an hour.

From the web page you referenced:
"A regular $200 coach ticket could cost from $1200 to $1600 for the first class
equivalent this way."

Please explain how this is not an "outrageous expense?"

He may view the Pres' and the GB as godlike beings above what he calls the
"commoners." Godlike beings who, financially supported by people like
himself, deserve the luxury of 1st class while the majority of JWs can't
even afford the cheapest tickets.

It is a bit much. There is no need for them to fly the most expensive way.
At one time they almost bragged about it, now they don't advertise the fact
anymore. They don't mention the Limos they hire anymore either. None if it
on THEIR own dime. Too much resentment in the congs I'm sure.

Well, well, just a few posts ago you were saying the old fuckers were worst off
than those on welfare and stupidly compared their treks to Paul of Tarsus.

The real truth is that they live lavishly. I just checked what a first class
ticket would cost from New York to Berlin on Lufthansa airlines. Roundtrip for
one is $17,000. If the old fart takes his wife, it's $34,000 just for the
airline tickets. Of course he has his bodyguards which is another $17,000 for
each one. Then we add the posh hotels and restaurants for several more
thousand. Yup, this is beginning to sound just like the apostle Paul.

You're an idiot, curtjester.

He may believe that for some reason. Maybe that's what they're telling the
JWs now. The poor low-income and lower-middle-class JWs would really and
understandably resent the truth, when they themselves can only afford a
Greyhound bus to travel. Some have old cars....

Why wouldn't they fly first class.

** Why would they when they themselves are NOT paying for it?

Usually people that do, which is a lot of people, take first class to be
away from the hoopla and noise that accompanies the commoners of discount
rates.

** And here they always claimed to be all equals with all JWs and all other
people.... as you saying they now see themselves *above the other
passengers* and consider them commoners? People who are paying their own way
while THEY use the money of their hard working followers to travel in
luxury?

Most people in first class have important projects ahead of them and need
the time for business or getting complete rest for their important missions.

** Hoopla? You are so full of BS it's unbelievable..... I got all my rest
and my business done flying the cheapest way. All my missions were
completed. If I can do it and millions of others can do it - so can they!

Charles Taze Russell, the founder of the JWs, barely had enough education to
read and write. He believed the length of the passageways in the pyramids
of
Giza in Egypt foretold the time of the return of the Christ. He believed
Jehovah literally lived on the star Alcyone of the constellation Pleiades.

These are the people who are telling you that you cannot accept a blood
transfusion to save your life.

I assume they teleconference more now I know our Kingdom Hall has had
its audio/video capabilities updated recently. If you have proof they
are flying first class then provide it.''
In case you missed AR's post - here it is again. Can you prove they fly
and live frugally and pay their own expenses from a "stippend" as do the
rest of the JWs living at Patterson NY?
"NATHAN H. KNORR, traveled the world all over first class. He lived in a
luxury
penthouse apartment on the tenth floor of Bethel, with murals on the walls,
private kitchen, television and other comforts. In addition, Knorr had a
Bethel
worker who served him personally and also acted as his cook. He owned a
Cadillac, took people to the most expensive restaurants, and to Broadway
shows."
"'HAYDEN C. COVINGTON, Attorney and vice-President of the WTS, in an
interview
stated: 'We went first class, Brother Rutherford told me, 'I want you,
whenever
you travel, to travel first class.' And so I did, and Brother Heath
[Rutherfords

Where is the cite for this information? None of the current GB members
are flying first class I hope. I don't honestly know.

What luxuries are you alleging for the GB exactly? By all accounts they
live quite modestly.
~~~~~~~~~
They fly first class everywhere. They stay at the best 5 star Hotels in
private rooms with the best room service man can hope for. Their apartments
at the opulent Patterson complex in NY are cleaned for them and they have
laundry service. They feast on the best foods money can buy, not from
bargain stores like Wal-Mart. They have complete medical and dental
coverage. Even their shopping is done for them. They have no contact with
the real world outside their palace-like complex. It goes on and on and they
don't pay one cent for anything - JWs who live at the complex take care of
them like bees take care of their Queen. At one time none of this was kept
secret. Now it is for some reason. No JW dare ask hard questions about how
the Pres' and GB live. And all the while the JWs, like drone bees,
struggling to pay their own bills have to supplement that complex and the
high-cost living expenses for those self-serving selfish power-hungry men.
Then you haven't been there. I know people who have. At one time there were
fountains such as found on the grounds of millionaires only. Chandeliers
worth up to $10,000 and more. We've been over this before.
Do you have proof everyone, the JWs, the elders, all lied and they really
If YOU have that proof - please provide it.
I, too, got a free Bible and a "Truth" book. Apparently Gregg hasn't been to
many meetings. If he had, he would have heard that all literature has to be
paid for. Of course the payments are anonymous so a JW could take literature
for "free," but that wouldn't be right. And if a publisher gives literature to
someone, the publisher is required to pay for it. As strange as it may sound,
many publisher will give away literature so they can claim it on their service
record, but they still have to pay for it.
Exactly what I had expected; you don't go to the KH. I am positive curtjester
doesn't either. You two are living in a bubble waiting for the paradise to
come. NEWS FLASH: There isn't any paradise, at least not any that has anything
to do with JWs. The JW organization is an invention of a common U.S. street
preacher. They are everywhere and have been for the past three hundred years.
They make up a religion that suits them and tell everyone that God told them
what to do. Russell was particularly good at it, but it's still bullshit.
I was a JW in good standing for 30 years. I know exactly what goes on in a KH.
Who do you think pays for those magazines left at laundromats, bus stations,
etc.? The publisher does. If a publisher gave you free books and magazines,
they had to pay for them, but they are pleased to do it because they can count
those books and magazines on the their service reports. Every time a JW talks
to you, the time spent gets put on their 'score card,' along with every piece of
literature they give you. When you get baptized and attend the meetings you'll
learn that what I say is absolutely truthful.
He doesn't know jack-shit about the organization. Everything he writes about is
dated. He's had a Bible study for a lengthy period of time, but that's it. He
wants to get to that paradise and believes that by posting here will get him
that ticket. That won't happen because:
1. There is no paradise.
2. Even if there was a paradise, it's not reserved for liars according to JW
doctrine.
Own a TV set? Go watch a PBS show on the Catholic history from how the hierachy worked through untold schemes and stonewallings to let many, many years of immorality and coverup to carry on...with victims and ex-Priests divulging the whole thing. Then, watch a Mormon one. You won't find any JW one.
catholic church was doing, and the WTS had to start paying out millions to
the victims, the WTS/GB shut their traps.
These guys think all their life how to hit it big.
They go door to door and serve where the need is
great all for extensive years so they can go the
top of a pyramid scheme.
Neither of them know jack shit about the organization. That's why they never
discuss it unless they are trying to refute the facts that we present, it's
clear they've not stepped into a KH unless it's just to sit there like a sloth.
A great deal of the JWs that I knew who joined the cult did so because they had
bad habits that they couldn't control on their own. It's a shame that some
people can't discipline themselves, so they feel that they have to join a strict
religion to contain their destructive behavior.
For curtjester, he has said several times that he lives in upstate NY, but free
public search engines does not have any record of him living there. That would
be impossible if he had even a driver's license. He said himself that he uses a
bicycle or takes a bus wherever he needs to go. Why doesn't he have a driver's
license? It may have been taken from him because of a DUI or maybe he has some
mental disorder that prohibits him from driving.
Gregg admitted that he has schizophrenia which I have nothing bad to say about.
So my guess is that Gregg wants the companionship of people who will accept him
as he is. Of course he doesn't realize it yet, but they only accepting him
because he is not baptized. Once he gets dipped, the honeymoon is over.
These two have seen more than enough evidence for them to realize that the WTBTS
is nothing more than a money hungry, power grabbing cult, yet they blindly
continue to defend it and continue to keep running towards the cliff as
lemmings. So be it.
See how easy they will lie to make up a slanderous scenario? It's so
easy, they probably can't keep up all the ones they make up.
Apparently you're a JW-wannabe. If you actually went to the KHs on a
Own a TV set? Go watch a PBS show on the Catholic history from how the
hierachy worked through untold schemes and stonewallings to let many, many
years of immorality and coverup to carry on...with victims and ex-Priests
divulging the whole thing. Then, watch a Mormon one. You won't find any JW
one.
** Odd how when the WTS, JWs all, was exposed for doing the same thing the
catholic church was doing, and the WTS had to start paying out millions to
the victims, the WTS/GB shut their traps.
Your speaking of "following the money." I go to the meetings twice week usu. and have a weekly bible study and
have attended several conventions. My brother is an elder in his
congregation. I have taken magazines for my own personal use and to
leave in my building and at work. They are free. It is my understanding
that in the past there was a charge but that ended years ago.
Yes, several years ago the JWs sold the magazines for a fixed price, but when it
seemed apparent that churches were going to be taxed, the WTBTS shifted from
selling for a fixed price to accepting donations so they wouldn't be taxed on
the sales.
You're mistaken about the literature being free. You are expected to pay for
the literature you get from the KH. There is a donation box in the KH where you
pay for them. From time to time it will be mentioned at the KH the suggested
cost of printing the literature. You are expected to pay at least that amount.
Unless you pay by check, no one is going to know how much you donate for the
literature, but if you don't pay for them, then you are being dishonest. You
are taking something that doesn't belong to you without paying for it. Next
time you see your brother, ask him. Donations should be made for all
literature. Pioneers have different rules; I'm talking about regular publishers.
What you are saying is the same as if you walked into a book store and took a
book out without paying for it and declaring that it was free. Yes, it was free
to you, but you stole it.
There is a charge Greg. Someone in your cong' paid for the magazines you're
taking for free. Every book, CD, magazine has to be accounted for and paid
for.
The switched to "donations" because of taxes, and for no other reason.
JWs are FORCED to contribute. Just tell them
you will no longer be paying for anything or
selling subscriptions to their literature.
I have received all sorts of literature including
two Bibles all gratis.
And I received a few FREE magazines and then was
asked to contribute if I wanted them for 6 months
or a year.
I, too, got a free Bible and a "Truth" book. Apparently Gregg hasn't been to
many meetings. If he had, he would have heard that all literature has to be
paid for. Of course the payments are anonymous so a JW could take literature
for "free," but that wouldn't be right. And if a publisher gives literature to
someone, the publisher is required to pay for it. As strange as it may sound,
many publisher will give away literature so they can claim it on their service
record, but they still have to pay for it.
What does one expect
Thanks for proving what I had expected all along, Gary Bergman. You are not a
JW publisher and you do not attend KH meetings. If you did you would know that
what I said was correct. That's why you've shown to be totally ignorant of how
the WTBTS operates. In other words you are a JW wannabe just like you are a
Vietnam vet wannabe. You talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Heh...
According to JW doctrine you will be denied access to the paradise. That is
reserved for only those who sell magazines and books.
* Why do you assume everyone who exposes the WTS as being "booted?" I left
on my own - I couldn't take the BS anymore. But then I never gave up my
non-JW friends or family members. Since I was not DFed the few JW friends I
had kept in contact with me for years. But others left on their own also.
And it isn't bad enough to pore into anti-literature and willing to accept
unprovable invoices; that they bring about a campaign against God, himself?!
* Despite what you think, the WTS has nothing to do with God other then use
him for profit.
Now they try to suck in anyone that even believes in a high power through
propaganda besides the usual slander based on missing/misusing facts and
* I see the truth hurt you. Sorry, but you needed to hear the truth.
If one is into that, it sure can't be far from imagining that they represent
the one in the Bible know for Slander. John 8:44; Gen. 3:2-5; Rev. 12: 9,10
* You JWs refused to believe you had a pedophile problem also, calling us
God haters and worse... then the truth came out and you all shut your pie
holes.
AND, with the volunteered suggestion for the 'cost for printing' taken into consideration, it sure demands a comparison for what they charge (unbiblically) for books and such in Religious bookstores which are about 90% higher.
Exactly. The congregation has to pay the WTBTS for the literature. If he
doesn't pay for it, then someone else has to through their donations. Gregg is
actually stealing from his congregation. Through the 30 years that I was a JW,
at no time was I ever told that the literature was free. Who told him that?
Certainly it wasn't from his brother whom he claims is an elder.
He's full of male bovine excreta. I was never told it was free either. None
of us were. We were also encouraged to make donations in the box by the door
to help pay the bills at the KH were we went. That was the usual water,
electricity etc. Occasionally we were talked to about our Wills and leaving
our estates to the WTS. Sadly some people did just that, leaving their
children and grandchildren, if any, - nothing!
You're an idiot! The Watchtower presidents have always had rich JW friends who
provide everything they could possibly desire. They want for nothing.
They didn't hide this fact either in the past. It seems they changed their
minds and now want people to think the poor GB and the poor Pres' live
frugally in not in near poverty. I'm sure some JWs, those having difficulty
making ends meet got a real resentment when they realized they were
supporting these men in luxury.... especially at the opulent palace like
place in Patterson NY.
always considered to be "spiritually weak."
When I was a JW I really disliked preaching in rich neighborhoods. Virtually no
one was ever interested. I believed the crap the cult taught about how rich
people are getting their reward here and now but will lose out in the
"paradise." The real truth is that most rich folks are well educated and not
fooled by cult members knocking on doors offering a ticket to paradise. It's all
bullshit; wake up and smell the coffee.
They didn't hide this fact either in the past. It seems they changed
their minds and now want people to think the poor GB and the poor Pres'
live frugally in not in near poverty. I'm sure some JWs, those having
difficulty making ends meet got a real resentment when they realized
they were supporting these men in luxury.... especially at the opulent
palace like place in Patterson NY.
I know JWs with hadly a cent. I also know JWs who drive 35k cars and live
in million dollar homes. I don't expect the GB to live in poverty but I do
expect them to live modestly.
I can assure you they do NOT live modestly. They enjoy the best of
everything money can buy.
I never knew a JW who was wealthy though I'm sure some are.
You're an idiot! The Watchtower presidents have always had rich JW friends who
provide everything they could possibly desire. They want for nothing.
Curtjester thinks the old fuckers live worse off than those on welfare. That is
pretty much the impression the rich bastards want their cult members to believe.
I believed it once, too, but there's no excuse to continue to believe such lies
when one can find the real truth on the internet.
Salary? Who needs a salary when everything is provided? Rutherford had a
mansion built for him in California where he could go on drunken binges without
being seen and owned two 12 cylinder Cadillacs during the Great Depression and
travelled extensively in Europe. Similarly today, virtually everything is
provided for the cult leaders. They want for nothing. Also they have unbridled
power. They have more power than the Pope. No one can dispute them or disagree
with them or even have a different opinion than them without fear of being
disfellowshipped.
I'm waiting for them to reply to the above information. They'll either not
reply or babble about "new light." If they try and ask an elder about this,
they're taking quite a chance.....
My understanding is that the mansion was bought so Isiah and the others
could have a nice place to stay once they returned to life on the earth.
The Pope has 900 million followers the GB has only 7 million who has
more power. The Pope has a solid gold crucifix he likes to walk around
with plus the priceless collection of Vatican art and the Vatican Bank.
I have for sale the Brooklyn Bridge. Would you like to buy it? If the mansion
was for the ancient worthies, then why was Rutherford using it for his personal
brothel and drunken binges? Rutherford was a rich bitch when the U.S. was in a
ten year long depression. You might want to ask why the WTBTS silently sold the
mansion without telling the JWs. Defending these actions by the WTBTS is
pathetic.
No he doesn't. The Pope is regularly criticized publically by church members
and his subordinates. This is NOT allowed in the WTBTS. Wake up and smell the
coffee. You are in a cult. Absolutely NO dissention is allowed, no matter how
sincere.
And yet he used the place himself. Why was that? His drinking was well
known among his followers. Hardly a man God would pick to head his org.
I don't recall this thread being about the Pope. Why do you keep bringing up
the Pope? The Pope did not start the WTS cult nor dictate how it's run.
I'm more interested in how the society it being run now instead of how
it was run 90 years ago. There was a time when the JWs celebrated
Christmas although they don't now of course and haven't for some time.
Me either. But those were the days they could easily hide the truth. Now
with the internet, they can't. :)
Exactly. There are some very good websites that expose the liars. What is
ironic is that the more strong fisted they become, the more who leave and become
'apostates.' The 'apostates,' because of being treated so horribly, are joining
together such as never before. In the past a shunned JW would be virtually all
alone but now they can communicate with thousands of others who have been
shunned and share experiences and knowledge about the cult. The old fuckers who
run the cult know fully well that if they relax their severe shunning rules,
thousands would leave immediately.
It's also ironic that Russell himself was an apostate to the church he had left
when he made up his own brand of religion which he copied from several different
others. In fact everyone who leaves another church to join the JW cult is an
apostate to the church they left. There's one main difference though:
Virtually any church that a JW leaves to join the JWs would gladly accept them
back. Not the JWs though. Their members have to grovel and sit in the back of
the KH and be shunned for months or years before they will be accepted. That is
a main difference between a religion and a highly controlled cult.
In the Bible, people were baptized the same day, and repentant Christians were
accepted back immediately, but the Watchtower cult invented their own rules to
force their members into submission. At least six months of indoctrination is
required before one can be baptized, and repentant members have to grovel for
months if their lucky.
Very well said.
I suspected early on that the DF'ing/shunning was a way to manipulate the
JWs. I saw how fearful they were of being DFed/shunned.
** LOL!!!! That's what the elders told us all to say. We had no choice but
to repeat it like parrots. ;) Of course not everyone felt that way when
they leaned the TRUTH.
There was a time when the JWs celebrated
Christmas although they don't now of course and haven't for some time.
** That's because cults need something different to convince the gullible
they're the "real deal." Also, the GB noticed that their income dropped
around Xmas and Easter as people were busy with preparations instead of
going D2D. They also had less cash to put in the KH cash donation boxes.
That had to stop so they looked for an excuse to stop their unpaid workers
for enjoying the holidays..... how can you be so ignorant of the truth?
